Assassins Rules (Game 1)
Preliminaries
1. All assassins must provide correct information on 'contract' forms provided.
2. Target envelopes must not be opened until assassins arrive home from Target Allocation Party.
3. No assassinations are permitted before 12 noon on Thursday 30th October.
Assassinations
1. Under no circumstances should an assassination cause any actual harm to a person or their possessions.
2. When being assassinated, fighting back is not permitted. If you become aware of the assassination attempt before you are killed, the only way to save yourself is to run away.
3. The victim must be made aware that they have been assassinated.
4. The victim must reveal the identity of their target to their killer (preferably by handing over contract). This now becomes the killer's next target. The victim is out of the game, but can come back in 24 hours as a nameless member of The Inquisition.
5. The Assassin must report back details of the killing asap (so the website can be updated), Detailed descriptions are encouraged, but time, date, victim & killer's names, and weapon used are essential.
6. Acceptable assassination methods for the purposes of this game are as follows:
a) Water Pistol - a squirt to the head or body = instant kill.
b) Plastic Retractable Bladed Knife - stab to body = instant kill.
c) Poisoned drink - Red Smartie = death in one sip. Green Smartie = 5 minute paralysis from neck down (gives potential killer a chance to gloat, and choose another weapon to finish the job).
d) Electrocution - string tied from target's chair to floor by electric socket = instantly frazzled.
e) Poison Gas - a squirt of perfume within 10 inches of target = quick painless death.
f) Poison kiss - lipstick mark on face = quick agonizing death.
g) Bomb - Target somehow sits on a balloon = blown to bits. (I Can't see this happening)
h) Voodoo - Victim sleeps in bed with doll effigy underneath it = never wakes up. (will need a call in the morning to let them know what was under the bed).
Miscellaneous
1. Assassins can only reveal the identity of their target's to the person who kills them.
2. Dead men/women tell no tales - you can't tell anybody else who your target was after you've been killed.
3. Assassins must kill each target within seven days of receiving contract. Failure to do so will result in that individual becoming a renegade assassin and hunted by The Inquisition. The identity of the Assassin will be put on the website. Renegade assassins are effectively out of the game (other than being on the run from The Inquisition), if your target becomes a Renegade you will no longer be expected to assassinate them and will be contracted to kill the Renegade's former target instead. (this is a bit sticky and complicated, but it's here to avoid the situation of somebody ruining the game by hiding in a cave for a month).
4. Members of The Inquisition can only kill renegade assassins, and must report details of kill as soon as possible (as above). There is no benefit in doing this other than ridding the world of bad assassins. The Inquisition can hunt individually or as a pack.
5. The winner of the game will be the last living non-renegade assassin. But the coolest person will be the assassin who has made the most successful kills.
6. The game is played for fun and depends on everybody being honest about who their targets are and whether or not they were successfully assassinated. So please resist the temptation to throw a spanner in the works and ruin it for everybody.
